I Melt
I love when the special time of day rolls around for a nap. After playing hardcore all morning, reading stories, watching Baby Signing Time, battling through piano lessons with little guy awake, it's just glorious. I love when he's made it through a few bites of lunch as well before falling asleep in the highchair at precisely 12:15 every afternoon. I can't help but melt as we're slowly walking up the stairs with the faint smell of residual peanut butter wafting up from his face and hands, and while sucking his thumb, he lays his head down on my shoulder and goes limp. Then I carefully place him in his crib and he groggily searches around for "beah", hooks his right arm around him, rubs his face on the mattress, settles on his tummy, and re-inserts left thumb with his bum in the air. Then the next 2 1/2-3 hours are ripe with possibilities for Mommy to get things done. :)

I love how "Beah" is happily smiling over the precious little guy's shoulder. I think he likes naptime too.
I wish I could do that every afternoon!
that makes me a little sleepy just reading about his routine! he is so cute! i love his bum-up sleeping position!
Those 3 hours are so nice!! Now if I could only get my kids to take theirs at the same time regularly. Hmm. . . And it's funny that Brighton sleeps in exactly the same postion, but with his sippy and "mousey". Oh the sweetness of sleeping children!!
That is just precious! I love the "residual smell of peanut butter" as you go down for nap time. It really is the perfect time of day. My big question for you is... how do you make it last 2 1/2-3 hours? We're lucky if Ivy's one nap lasts 1 1/2 hours these days. Your must be doing something right! Please share!
