Friend Sippy Cup

This is where the friends spend most of their time. They push each other down, play with the spring doorstopper, suck on highlighters, and play peekaboo with the curtain.

The little men

Emerson figuring out the sippy cup. Notice all the milk spatters around his eye.

So I've been trying to get Emerson to catch on to the sippy cup. He refuses to take a bottle, and I don't want to go through the process of weaning him from the bottle anyway...But he hasn't been real friendly to the sippy until he was really thirsty. And until he saw that Tucker had a cool milk container as well. Genius. I just let Emerson watch Tucker drink from his cool milk holder for a minute and then handed him his, and boom he layed down and away he went on the formula. I'm really excited to be done with breastfeeding, but there's a small part of me that's sad too. My little boy won't need me anymore and I'm not going to be special. :( Don't worry, I'll survive. Especially when I don't have to strategically plan my outfits for church to give easy access. *Wink* Goodbye skirts, hello dresses. Although, it is fun to give and receive a good flash here every now and then in the Mothers' lounge when you realize either your dress top won't pull down quite far enough or you have to retuck your camisole at the end. It's always a party.

I love how he figured out how to use the sippy cup. Was it Peer Pressure or just inspiration?

We had a Stake Women's Conference last week, and since Ivy was staying with her Dad I actually got to wear a dress! Not a "strategically planned outfit" as you so correctly put it. It was heaven. Can't say I'll miss those embarrassing mother's room moments, though! Looks like E's really mastering that sippy cup!

Haha! I feel the same way about nursing. I'm excited to be done, but sad I won't be the one who he wants to go to.

I look forward to weaning but also not... I wore a dress the other day because we were at stake conference and I had JUST fed Lincoln and it felt good... can't wait for more of those days... but I still have quite a few more months.

I'm glad for you that the breastfeeding is over! And I am jealous that Emerson is having more luck with the sippy cup...we are still struggling!

I tried avoiding the bottle with Ericson for the same reason. I eventually gave in, but still used it like a sippy, so there was no "weening" involved. :D Emerson is getting soooo big and I can hardly believe it. He is such a cutie!!

Wow, i'm a little jealous to hear that you're done....and i'm just beginning! Sounds like the mothers lounge is rockin! ha ha I do love my "together time" with Emri when i feed her but i have to say i'm already dreading church or going anywhere in public if i have to feed her while i'm out....maybe i'll just go inactive for the next year! ha ha!

Thanks so much for stopping by last week, and for the delicious treat! We totally downed all the cookies that night! I've been terrible about eating everything in sight these days! I'll have to call ya...we've still been hermits other than getting out to run a few errands. I just want it to warm up for good outside then i'd feel better about being out!
