He's decided that crawling around with Pooh bear in his mouth is a good idea. Really having anything in his mouth is a good idea to him. He likes putting his mouth on things too...not necessarily to bite, but just to see what it feels like. Quite a bit like a puppy.
Dogs wag their tails when they're happy or enjoying something, and Emerson rolls his ankles. He'll sit for a long time in his high chair playing with his puffs or sippy cup and his ankles will be just rolling away. That's how we know he's content.
I find myself calling these "treats." I can't help but think of little doggy treats when Emerson crawls to me and I put one in his little mouth avoiding his sharp little teeth. They also kind of resemble Kibbles 'n' Bits.
Dogs and Emersons need their little claws clipped. I need one of those little file things on the infomercials so I don't injure the nail bed. :)Another thing (which I do not have a picture for) that contributes to this post is the fact that my friend Candice calls little baby toys "chew toys". And we both laugh about it every time. And it's true. They ARE chew toys.
But puppy or not, I love my little guy.

He he he! I bet you didn't realize you'd be getting a baby AND a puppy while you were incubating E for nine months. Too true, too true.
That is so funny! I've thought the same thing when we go to the pet store. I always say to Jordan that the little puppies remind me of Jadyn. I love my little puppy too...
Great post, I love the similarities. :)
Hmm...that is quite interesting. I love his cute little ankles, and by little I mean chubby.
Good observations, Nin, and to think you never even had a puppy at home. The happy ankle roll proves he is related to Brooke. Yay! I have tons of video of her doing that, sometimes wrists too! He is so dang cute no matter what he is doing, but I assume you have noticed that.
This is hilarious! I think boys are more like dogs than girls. Brooklyn has done those things, but Ethan STILL does them. When he's looking for something, he gets down on his hands and knees and crawls around, sniffing the air...
The similarities are amazing, but he's much cuter than a puppy! (Okay, puppies ARE very cute, but unfortunately they grow up). However, since I was such a mean mother and never let you have a dog, I'm glad you now have the best of both worlds.
Aren't you glad he doesn't shed or bark really loud? Yeah, he's definitely way better than a dog.
We must be on the same wavelength, Melinda. Or maybe our kids just have similar personalities, because I've thought this same thing about Sadie so many times. She crawls around my feet like a puppy, she chews on her toys like a puppy, and she even stands up to the couch and begs with her big blue eyes like a puppy. Now all I need to do is teach her how to bark and I'm set!
There is no way he is a puppy! He is too cute! The picture with him crawling with Pooh in his mouth makes me laugh!
