Slighty Better Attempt at Walking

Here is a video we got of him that's slightly better, but of course it doesn't do his cool first steps the justice they deserve. E's such a silly boy. At nine months, he's starting to walk, but he won't clap his hands or wave. He's just got a mind of his own. :)

So... I just wrote this whole big long rant on our blog about my enviousness of walking babies and then I bopped on over here to see if you had updated, and lo and behold, there's Emerson walking! I hope you don't think I wrote that rant in response to your posts. Well, it IS in part because of super-E and his walking abilities, but he's not the only one. Am I confusing you? Maybe you should read my blog to figure out what in the world I'm going on about. :)

P.S. He IS pretty much the cutest walking baby I've ever seen! Go Emerson!

Hooray, E! Way to master the complexities of walking. For heaven's sake, I still mess it up regularly, and I've been doing it for 24 years.

So I've noticed that your backgrounds are a bit dark. Do they have electricity in Ohio? The presence of a regularly updated blog seems to indicate so, but I can't completely convince myself that you don't have Ben somewhere sweating away on one of those electricity-producing bikes (you know the ones) hooked up your computer for the sole purpose of blogging in the dark. So anyway, just wondering.

But he's so young! What a smartie pants. How exciting... time for some intense baby-proofing, eh? He is just too darling.

Yes, I did use the Babywise method, though not at strictly as it suggested. I really think that the fact that Ivy is such a great nighttime sleeper is due to that. We still occasionally struggle with daytime napping, but nothing major. Sounds like it worked out well for you guys!

That is so cute, I love when he just falls over and lays there on his side for a minute. Now the real fun begins. It is so amazing as to how much more they can reach or get into when they begin walking. He so looks like both of you, but he also looks more Johnson-ish all the time and reminds me of Scott and Brad at that age.

oh and I forgot to say, he won't clap or wave, but I bet he still shakes everything!!

Oh my gosh!! The real fun begins!! He is so cute. I was laughing at him just falling over and laying there for a minute. It was so cute. I can't believe he's already that big, but he's still too little to walk!! Good job Emerson!!

Wow! Do you want to know what is so funny? My kids walked at 10 and 10.5 months but I swear they were 2 before they waved or clapped too! I always tell people about how slow they were at the clapping and waving.
