Little E's First Haircut

Before: Slightly scraggly, yet still lovable little guy

I wish I had sound to go with this picture. This is the face Emerson makes when he coos and tries to talk. He can't make a sound without flaring his nostrils and thinning out his lips.

After: Ta-Da! My well-groomed full-head-of-hair boy.

I've found my calling in life. When I was a little girl, I always told my mom I wanted to be a haircut girl. But I didn't go to cosmetology school and merely settled for college instead. I was fairly sure my dreams were coming true when I got married...not for the reasons you might think... but mostly because I got to cut Ben's hair. Then after I'd practiced on him for awhile, my brother Scott decided that getting a free haircut from his oh-so-talented sister wasn't so bad, and then my other brother Brad got on the free haircut wagon. And yes, even my dear old Dad took advantage of my haircutting skillz. I didn't realize until now that all of those haircuts were just practice for the most difficult haircut of my life. Not only was I unable to use the clippers with the little attachments, but my little guy was wiggling and throwing himself all over the place. However, I emerged successful with a presentable looking baby with no cuts or stab-wounds and a little lock of hair to tape in his baby book. I am fulfilled.

He is so handsome! All the baby girls will be after him. I wish I could kiss those chubby little cheeks right now!

He is so darling! He looks so handsome after and I wish that I could just hear him cooing and see his little innocent face!

New Horizons College of Beauty in Logan definitely missed out on a diamond in the rough with you, Nin. I used to cut Paddy's hair, too. When he got a big-boy job, he asked if I'd be offended if he got one from "a professional". Curse that master's degree.

E looks AWESOME.

oh wow Nin, who knew you were THAT talented! I am definitely impressed! You did have good stuff to work with, after all he was born with hair and eyebrows. By looking at his expression, flared nostrils in particular, I can honestly hear his baby voice in my head. Sooooo cute.

I'm way impressed! I don't think I'll dever dare cut anyone's hair, let alone a wiggle wirm baby. I think Tucker's first hair cut will be in about a year!

I am very impressed with your haircutting abilities, especially on someone who probably doesn't stay still for too long! Do you want to come cut Josh's hair! He is officially getting a "fro", but Dave apparently loves it! Good job!

I love it also in the first picture because it looks like he is deciding what to get done. I love that little guy!

What a cute little guy. I bet he's already got a little harem of admirers at church. What a little lady killer. P.S. Nice job! The first few are a beast with all of the flailing and such. After a while, they get used to them and don't put up much of a fight.

Ok I realize this is the 11th comment, but being in the free family haircut business how could I pass it up. The haircut looks great, I'm glad you were able to destraggle him... which really does take talent at that age.
