Favorite Moment Yesterday...

I had a pretty eventful day yesterday.  We didn't go anywhere, but we did put our house on the market, had pictures taken of our house, and kept 2 little rats under control.  I also had a nice chat with my older brother, and we watched a little bit of Star Wars as a family, (more on that later), but my favorite moment was this:

It all started when Sammi discovered that peas fit perfectly into her little nostrils and she was very pleased with herself.  It was one of those moments that you know you can't, seriously CAN'T let them see you laugh because they'll keep doing it and with worse things, so we reprimanded her accordingly and I removed the offending peas by squishing her nostrils and popping them out.  I then placed said peas on the table because I couldn't leave them on her tray.  The best part was when Ben, a few minutes later, not realizing they were THOSE peas, popped them into his mouth and proceeded to chew.  I had an internal battle about whether I should tell him or not for about .5 seconds, and then I just had to because I wanted to see his reaction.  It was priceless, and I couldn't stop laughing until I had tears streaming down my face.  Now let's just hope she doesn't try it with Lego pirate gold like my little sister did.

This made me laugh out loud. Being a parent is so gross sometimes.

I know he obviously didn't INTEND to eat the peas, so it's a little different, but it reminds me of all the stuff you swear you won't do before having kids that you don't even think about later. Like, I hate boogers. (I think this makes me vastly different than, well, no one.) I swore I'd never be able to get a booger off my kid with my bare hands. Once it's your kid, though, it's not that you're less grossed out at the thought of touching it so much as you are MORE grossed out by the idea of the other option, which is let that booger stay on your child.

Long story short, I've done it.

Ha! That cracked me up. Poor Ben. :)

And, wow! Does that make you sad to put your house on the market? It boggles my mind that you guys have really been out there for four years.

That is honestly one of the funniest things I have heard about kids putting stuff in their nostrils! And as you said, they are so proud of the perfect fit! Too bad you didn't take a picture of Ben's reaction for posterity! hahahahaha
