Emerson has had an explosion of words lately. He's been picking them up so fast and will surprise us by saying something that we had no clue he could say. He's like a little sponge and absorbs everything we talk about. (Yikes...we'd better be careful.) One morning Ben rescued him from his bed and we were pointing to the firetrucks on Daddy's jammies (yes you read that right--on DADDY'S jammies) and then E pointed to the fireman hats and said "hat!" and patted the top of his head.
The rest of the day he was obsessed with hats and got very creative at breakfast. He had a little bit of bagel with cream cheese left over and put it on top of his sippy cup and then proudly told me "hat!" What an imagination. It makes me smile. Speaking of creative meals, he also has lately enjoyed stacking the crusts from his sandwiches on top of each other and pulling them across his tray while saying "choo choo!" I'm glad I can get a little glimpse into his imagination.

He's got the cutest little voice. We loved having him over Friday night, even if he didn't want all the toys William was trying to share with him!
Sounds like he hit his word spurt! 18-20 months and those little kiddos just exploding with vocabulary. Have I become more of a nerd for studying Speech Pathology? I like to think so. Miss you guys!
He is so cute with his little words! Haha! I love those little cheeks and want to squish them very hard! Three more days until I get to! Yay!
Yes! I love that he is learning words so quickly. My number one goal over Christmas: teach him "booty."
That is so stinkin' cute! I wish Josh would say "actual" words! He "talks" so much but only says about 10-12 words. It's weird, he'll say a word and then he won't ever say it for like a month! Frustrating! Anyway, Emerson seriously is so cute! I love the hat he wears! Very cute!
I love his little imagination! I can't wait to see you guys in 2 days and experience it in person!
