New Moon Madness

As a 23-year-old mom, I've noticed my body doesn't work like it used to. I know you're thinking "Ah, 23...those were the days", but being a mom kind of cancels out the 23-year-old-ness. Remember the good old days at college when you would start hanging out at like 11:00 p.m.? Those days are over, I tell you. We see 11:00 p.m. still, but only jammy-clad with waxy contacts and greasy end-of-the-day makeup surrounded by a big comfy blanket. And we're kind of in and out of consciousness as we try to finish the movie we so stupidly started at 10:00.

So what possessed me to think it was a good idea to go out to the double feature of Twilight and the midnight showing of New Moon? Pure madness. Pure need for a fun GNO and pretending I'm a teen again with squeals of delight at the shirtless werewolves. But I only like them because they remind me of Ben. :) I'm so lucky to have a ward full of cool girlfriends. It was blast. I don't regret going at all, although I was dragging a little, was a bit shorter on patience, and may or may not have used the miracle of TV more than usual today. I wasn't feeling as tired as I thought I would be though. So who's up for Eclipse next year?

Holy crap! I'm excited for Eclipse! Melinda, you can rightfully say, "I told you so!" because I do love the Twilight series just like you told me I would. My friends and I were saying that at the beginning, Bella will probably just start out by saying, "Yes! I will!" and then they'll continue on with the saga. I freaking love this saga, and yeah! You can take the credit for that Nat and Melinda!

Oh come on, 2:30AM is nothing. I think that it has finally hit me today. I actually fell asleep during the Ohio State game, GASP! It was a fun night. I loved sitting by you and Candice and looking for your cute little bob in the dark, panicking.

I think it's important to revisit those youthful days of little sleep for some much deserved girls time every now and then. And with an excuse like New Moon? Most appropriate indeed... :)

Cute post! I agree with you about the tiredness that comes with mother hood! I think about all of the times I stayed up so late in college and too think that "those were the days." So sad that I had to miss this New Moon Madness.. due to pregnancy and a cold I would have slept through the entire thing! However, I will hopefully go and see it soon. Glad that you had fun! We need to do regular girls nights!

It's a good thing you don't work at Disneyland. You'd be like one of the older ladies who most people hate because they never take a closing shift. Plus, last night I was extended. So instead of staying at work until 2:25, I was there until 3! You would probably implode if you had to do that. Haha. At least with New Moon you were doing something fun.

"I only liked them because they remind me of Ben!" Ha ha ha. Love it. It was a fun night, even if I only waved at you from afar. :)

Umm... so this totally has nothing to do with New Moon, but I had to tell you that Sadie can now say "Emerson." Well... she can say "Emers" - close enough.

I am so glad we could do that too Melinda. Totally worth a worthless day the next day.

Let's plan on an Eclipse party too.
